PURCHASE OF WINCHELL’S DONUT HOUSES OPERATING CO., LLP
In October 2004, Yum Yum Donuts purchased the largest donut chain on the West Coast: Winchell’s Donuts. The stores will continue to operate under the Winchell’s name, but will be managed under the ownership of Yum Yum Donuts.
MANUFACTURING & DISTRIBUTION
Yum Yum purchased a 40,000 square foot building in the City of Industry, Calif. in 1981. This facility manufactures most of the donut and baking ingredients used by Yum Yum and Winchell’s donut shops. In 1991, the manufacturing and warehousing operations were spun off into a separate company, Quality Naturally Foods, Inc. (QNF).
PHILOSOPHY
Yum Yum Donuts is one of the largest and most successful donut shop chains today. Behind Yum Yum’s familiar happy face is a simple concept of financial success: Serve only the freshest, most delicious donuts and coffee in stores that are fast and friendly. As a result, customer loyalty is high. It’s not unusual to see the same customers every day of the week.
The key to Yum Yum’s success is the men and women who operate and manage each shop as if it were their very own business—there is no substitute for pride of ownership. We are always looking for opportunities to grow and take advantage of our thirty plus years of experience running donut shops.
Yum Yum’s business interests continue to focus on developing stores and businesses that are related to our core business and that enhance the quality of the products we serve.
