Fernwood Botanic Garden and Nature Center

A Great Place to Hike and Enjoy Nature

The 105 acre nature center is bordered by the St. Joseph River and is open, with an admission fee, to the public year round. In the winter, enjoy cross country skiing. In warm weather, look for trillium and other wildflowers and ramble along on the four miles of nature trails which wind through the woods and past numerous seeps and springs. Spot song birds and small mammals who are attracted to the nature center feeding station. There are also botanical gardens and a prairie reconstruction.
