The U is a family effort. We love good, healthy food and tantalizing coffee. We love music.We’re all about originality here, and it shows in many ways, from latte art to food, from the vibe of our space to the musicians we present. This is a one-of-a-kind cafe with a stake in our small town community.

Philosophy: Food Should Make You Happy

Everything we serve is fresh. We take extra care to create healthy, delicious soups, sandwiches, salads and pastries that you won’t find at a drive-through. We think food should make you feel good and be good for you, and thats how we roll.

Coffee and Teas From Around the World

All the coffee we serve is roasted here in Michigan by small, independent operations that approach their craft as artisans, with pride in their work. It shows in the roasts: Honduras Dark, Ethiopean Yirgacheffe, wonderful coffee beans from Papua New Guinea, Sumatra, all imported by Michigan entrepreneurs and roasted to perfection with knowledge, experience and loving attention.

Sunday Sessions: Original Acoustic Music

On select Sunday afternoons we present concerts by accomplished acoustic musicians. This is a Listening Room, with outstanding acoustics, where singer songwriters perform their original music. Artists from Michiana, Chicago, Madison, Atlanta, Nashville and even Los Angeles have performed here.
