Bronson
Gladiolus Capital of the United States
glad_field.jpg
Known as the largest producer of fresh cut gladiolus in the U.S., the world's largest snowmobile auction and boasting a city hall made of plastic and constructed in just 14 hours, the charming city of Bronson also is a water wonderland, with close proximity to numerous lakes.  Bronson has the reputation of being a "Fisherman's Paradise" and those who love fishing will find that local lakes abound with bluegill, bass, perch, pike, crappie, walleye and rainbow lake trout. Public fishing sites and boats for rent are available on many of these sites. Many year round homes and cottages are located on the lakes and some are available for rent.  For non-fishers, swimming, boating, sailing and water skiing are popular summer activities. In the winter, there is ice fishing. Because of the large deer, rabbit and pheasant population, hunting is also popular.

Bronson, with its diverse population, reflects the heritage of the German, Polish and Hispanic who have settled here. The surrounding area also is home to many Amish and their expertise in farming, carpentry, wood working and quilt making, can be found in local shops.
